Delmade continues to grow with investment in robotic welding

Delmade is stoked to have been successful in our application for Round 3 of the Advanced Manufacturing Accelerating Growth Grants program. This funding supports the commissioning of an industry leading robotic welding production line to expand Tasmanian manufactured agricultural tillage equipment into new mainland and potential global markets, and is supported by the Tasmanian Government through the Department for State Growth.

It's very pleasing to see the Tasmanian Government continuing to support local manufacturing business, especially those in regional areas. Delmade is proud to be a strong contributor to the Tasmanian manufacturing sector.

Our investment in a state of the art robotic welding cell will enable production to increase in our facility. Increasing the availability of our product throughout Tasmania and mainland Australia. This opportunity will also diversify employee capabilities to higher skilled occupations, increasing their readiness for industry 4.0 methodologies in robotics, digitisation and automation.

Delmade plans to install an automated 6-axis industrial welding robot supporting two welding stations with head and tailstock positioners that enable synchronised rotation and welding and laser guided sensing to improve automation.

Providing jobs is one of our key focuses both as a business and in this new endeavour. It is always one of our first considerations to provide employment opportunities within our local community and as such we currently have open full time positions for fabricator welders with other positions available in sales & admin as well.

Robotic welding is proven to be very beneficial in the manufacturing sector. With key gains experienced including: more consistent & higher quality welds, greater productivity, yields & throughput, reduced waste and reduced post weld cleanup.
